THE PALLISHADE
Inspiration from happy accidents.
This is a prototype. I wanted to make a lamp and was intrigued by playing with wood, light and circular shapes. The happy accident was the wonderful shadows thrown by the uneven wood strips, as you will see in the gallery images. So many species are represented in this palette of pallets- maple, oak, Douglas Fir, cedar, pine, ash. There will definitely be more Pallishade-style lamps in MFL's future.

The thin strips allow transparency of light, and the nail and knot holes add character unique to this lampshade.

This image gives you an idea of the play of light and shadow thrown by the lampshade.

Looking down into the centre of the shade, you can see how thin and intentionally imperfect the strips are.
